Fire service confirms vehicles were at Carlisle’s Shaddongate were for training

Carlisle West Fire Station have confirmed that the number of vehicles at a busy section of the city had turned up for a training exercise. Eyewitnesses have claimed that fire services made their way to the city’s Shaddongate earlier on Thursday evening. Witnesses saw four fire appliances, fire car and command truck arrive at the scene.

The fire service said: “It was an Exercise (Steam Vent).

Carlisle West, Carlisle East, Carlisles ALP, Wigton & Longtown as well as the Enhanced Logistical Support unit.

The Exercise was organised to test our High Rise Buildings procedures.”
