Driver flees after ploughing into lamp post as passenger rushed to hospital

A man has been taken to hospital after a car ploughed into a lamp post in Wigan. Police were called to the smash on Mosley Common Road last night (November 12) shortly before 9.25pm. The driver of the vehicle ran from the scene leaving his passenger, a man in his 50s, injured in the vehicle.

A green Ford Fiesta can also be seen stationed in the middle of the carriageway, with a number of police vehicles parked nearby. No arrests have been made. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward with information.

“No arrests have been and any information should be passed to police online, if able, or via 101 quoting incident 3180 of 12/11/2021.”
