A69 serious crash LIVE: Police confirm man has died following serious collision

A man has died following a collision on the A69 in Northumberland. The A69 at Haltwhistle, Northumberland was forced to close in both directions due to a collision on Monday. The stretch of road affected runs from the B6138 (Greenhead turn-off) to the B6322 Tyne View Road, with traffic between Carlisle and Newcastle affected as a result.

The incident was first reported at 4:10am on Monday (November 15). The road was reopened just after 2pm on Monday. Police say for reasons to be established, a grey Ford Fiesta had collided with a truck that was travelling in the opposite direction.

Emergency services attended the scene, but sadly the driver of the Fiesta – a 37-year-old man – was pronounced dead at the scene.
