Huge lorry full of potato waffles explodes into fireball on UK motorway
A lorry carrying a load of potato waffles caused traffic chaos when it burst into flames on a motorway. The dramatic blaze broke out on the hard shoulder of the M6 in Cheshire at around 7.10am this morning. Fire crews rushed to the scene on the northbound carriageway between junctions 20 and 21 and worked for more than two hours to extinguish the flames.
The inferno caused misery for hundreds of motorists who faced lengthy traffic delays between Lymm and Woolston. Cheshire Police confirmed that the driver was not injured and remained at the scene to assist officers and fire investigators.
