Expansion for engineering firm

Walker Riverside-based engineering company Tyne Electro Diesel has moved into a 20,000 sq ft base as it eyes an expansion into new sectors. The business has been operating for more than 25 years and specialises in diesel fuel injection engineering in the marine, offshore, power and rail sectors.  It is expanding its services to the ‘off highway’ sector including earth movers, diggers, generators and any diesel plant as well as truck and bus engines. 

Tyne Electro Diesel business development manager Gerry Mulholland said: “We have a long-standing reputation in our core sectors but saw an opening in the market to offer the latest diesel fuel injection technology testing solutions to other industry sectors thereby making energy efficiency savings.

“There is so much opportunity and now we have the capacity to deliver our services on a much larger scale.”

Tyne Electro Diesel is a sister company of Merlin, a wholesaler of diesel fuel pumps, injectors and spare parts, with a turnover of ?36m.
